Defeating Major Enemies Part IIA

2. What you consider will bring victory or defeat in every situation that you face.

Romans 4:19-5:1
And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb: he staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; and being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. Now it was not written for Abraham’s sake alone, that it was imputed to him, but for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on Him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification. Therefore, being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ; by whom also we have access by faith into the grace wherein we stand and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

This passage is talking about Abraham. It says that Abraham was not weak in faith because he did not consider his own body or circumstances. Because Abraham was strong in faith, he did not stagger/waiver at the promise of God through unbelief. He was strengthen through faith by giving glory to God. Because he was strong in faith, he was fully persuaded that what God had promised, God was able to perform. Because Abraham was in faith, God imputed this to righteousness on Abraham's account. Ultimately Abraham's righteousness resulted in peace with God. This is also the way we have peace with God through our faith in Jesus Christ.
