Who is the Real God Again? El Shaddai and El Elyon

In Genesis 14:18 God presents Himself to Abraham through Melchizedek, priest of the God Most High, as El Elyon - The Most High God. The Most High God is the only true God. There is no other God!!!

In Genesis 17:1 God presents Himself to Abraham as El Shaddai, God Almighty. God Almighty is the breasted one. Who provides all a person needs even to the giving of Himself.

Like God the Father, Jesus the Son is the only one - the only way, the only truth, and the only life. No one comes to the Father except through Jesus. Jesus gave all that all men who would accept Him would have all they need.

Jesus died and gave His all so that we might be healed. Isaiah 53:3-6; Matthew 8:16-17; I Peter 2:24

Who is the Real God? Elohim & Jehovah

To answer the question, "Who is the Real God?", one must look to Genesis 1. In the Hebrew language names are used to describe something about the person/thing that has that name. The only name used for God in the first chapter of Genesis is "Elohim" - the One who is in covenant relationship. God is a covenant God. He makes covenants with people. This is He promises people that He will do something or He will do something if they will do something. God always does what He says that He will do because He honors His covenants and God can not lie and His Word is truth.

In Genesis 2 God presents the second name that tells us about God. God is LORD or Jehovah. The God who is who He is. Jehovah is truth, righteous, and justice. God is the standard, sets the standard, and does or judges according to the standard.

For example, when God says that He is the LORD that heals you, you know that He is in covenant relationship and that if we do our part, God will do His part in healing. (see Exodus 15:26)

When God says that something is sin, it is sin for all. God punishes all sin. Jesus came to take all our punishment for all sin and give us peace with God.

Healing is part of the Atonement - Jesus dying on the Cross for our sins.

Foundations for Healing Using the Word of God

I John 4:8 & 16 and John 3:16 tell us that God is love. Love is the very nature of God. For a person to believe God, they must know that God loves them and always wants the best for them.

Today, people look at the God of the Old Testament who may seem to be mean but is really only being who He is and being consistant with who He is. God gave man a choice to hearing and obey God or disobey and die spiritually. When man choose to disobey, God begin to immediately to show His love by preparing to send His Son to died for man's sins and restore man to a relationship with Him.

When Jesus came to earth, He told everyone that if you have seen me you have seen the Father God. (John 14:9) Also, in Hebrews 1:1-3 we are told that Jesus came to show us and tell us about God.

John 17:3 give us the definition of eternal life. That you may know (intimately) God and His Son, Jesus Christ, whom He sent. For us to receive all (including healing)God has for us, we must first know God personally and intimately.

Sin Nature is Dead, You're a New Creation

II Corinthians 5:17 talks about the new creation. What is the new creation like? I Peter 2:24 and Romans 6:1-10 tell us more. With the sin nature dead, we are dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus. With sin nature out of the way, we should have not more spiritual death, sin, sickness, proverty and death. Jesus kill it at the Cross.

When we know who we are in Christ, we have victory over anything that will try to destroy us.

Jesus is the Healer

Isaiah 53:5, Matthew 8:17, and I Peter 2:24 all tell us that By His stripes we are/were healed. God in Christ has done His part. Now it is our time to do our part. Believe and receive!

Healing is for All

I was at a teaching on Romans tonight and a discussion arose concerning healing and the Word of God. The Word of God must be the final authority in all things of God. When you make your experience the final authority, you are not going to receive faith from the Word of God to carry you through situations of life. Also, the Word of God tells you God's ways and His Word. If you do not know or understand His Word, you must seek God by the Holy Spirit, your teacher, and the Word of God for your wisdom and understanding. God is not mysterious. In Jesus He has told us about and shown us God.
