Defeating Major Enemies Part Vc
5. Jesus Christ defeated the devil.
Luke 10:19
Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Genesis 1:26-28
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness, and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.”
And what is the exceeding greatness of His power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of His mighty power, which He wrought in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead, and set Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that in names, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. Eph 1:19-23
Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. Phil 2:9-11
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. Matt 28:18-20
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. I John 4:4
Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen. And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My Name they will cast our demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover. Mk 16:14-18
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Rom 8:37
What is man, that You are mindful of him? and the son of man, that you visited him? For you have made him a little lower then than the angels, and have crowned him with glory and honor. You made him to have dominion over the works of your hands: You have put all things under His feet: All sheep and oxen, yes, and the beasts of the field; the fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passes through the paths of the sea. Psa 8:6-8
The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD’s: but the earth He has given to the children of men. Psa 115:16
God gave Adam and Eve a blessing and dominion. The blessing gave them everything that they needed to be all that God wanted them to be. Dominion or authority to accomplish all God wanted them to accomplish. Heaven is God's throne. God has given man the authority to rule the earth. If something bad happens on the earth, it is MAN'S responsibility, not God's. God has given man all that he needs to have dominion on the earth. All blessings and dominion come to us through Jesus Christ.
