Defeating Major Enemies Part Vd
5. Jesus Christ defeated the devil.
Luke 10:19
Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Psalms 91:13
You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.
From power of darkness into Kingdom of His Son
He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us in the kingdom of
the Son of His love in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness
of sins. Col 1:13-14
And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. Eph 1:19-23
Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. Phil 2:9-11
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. Matt 28:18-20
Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen. And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My Name they will cast our demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover. Mk 16:14-18
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Rom 8:37
The devil has been defeated. When we accept Jesus Christ as our LORD and Savior, we are no longer under the devil's power. Glory to God! We are in the kingdom of God's Dear Son, Jesus Christ. We are a member of His body, the chruch. We have His name, which is above every name. All things are under our feet. He has given us all authority.
Jesus has told us that we are like Him. We are to act like Him. We are by the power of the Holy Spirit and the authority of the Word of God to "GO INTO ALL THE WORLD." We are to show God's love, tell the Good News, and show God's power through signs and wonders.
The devil has been defeated by Jesus Christ. Man once again has the authority and power. Faith, not fear, is our overcoming weapon. God's last words tells us that we have already WON. Glory to God!!!!
